Returning Home - Outer Bawn - Early Evening Empty Returning Home - Outer Bawn - Early Evening

The air in the park stood still this evening, the quickly setting sun laying a glow of red and orange over the budding trees. Everything was peaceful for once.

Suddenly the silence was broken by a thunderous "crack" as something broke the sound barrier, a loud sonic boom filling the air with sound and energy. As the echo of the sound fades, a large raven comes into view, its strong wings flapping wildly to slow the creature down. It landed gracefully on the outstretched limb of a large tree, looking only slightly ruffled.

At first glance one might pass this sleek looking creature as just another one of the ravens flying around and picking up scraps. If one looks closely though, there are telltale signs of something strange. Tucked neatly in the feathers of her tail, one fire red feather flashed bright among the oily blackness of the other feathers, and normally beady eyes are replaced with ones rimmed in yellow, and they stared at you with otherworldly intelligence.

The raven takes several moments to gather itself, making sure that it was alone, before seeming to burst into fire. The creature grew immense for moments, spreading like a phoenix reborn, before settling down into the form of a young woman of around 17. She remained high in the tree, her flamboyant, layered skirts hanging in long drapes around the branch. She took a moment to pull her hair back, revealing those same fire red highlights, before settling again.

It had been a long time since Rhia had visited her Cherokee Park friends. Years had flown by running with Darien and Speaks of Mist, doing her duty as a daughter of Helios and Gaia. Still, Cherokee Park was home. The girl took a moment to run a hand across the bark of her seat. This was her tree. She had nested here for countless nights, until the night Darien found her and took her home. This was her tree, her forest, her city...and she missed it.

She knew she couldn't stay. It wouldn't be long before Darien and Speaks were looking for her. Her wings were strong and swift though, and she knew she could be back to them in a moment's notice, so she sat. Sat and drank in the familiar smells and sounds of home. Sat and tuned out the chaos of the last while. Sat and for the first time in years, felt like a child again.

Windy hearing the sonic boom rushed through the woods as fast as he could looking for his young friend. When he broke through the trees and saw this young woman there, -it was definitely Rhia, he thought to himself, but it had been many years- Windy runs up and throws his arms around her.

"Rhia, it's been ages how are you? I have to say it's an honor to have you home again!"

((She's totally in a tree, but don't worry, I got this xD))

Rhia had chosen just that moment to slide from the tree in search of her friend when she was thrown off guard by the sudden hug from Windy. She faltered for a moment, before returning the gesture warmly.

"It's great to see you too, Windy." Rhia said. Now that she was out of the tree and not sitting, it was obvious how much she had grown. No longer was the wild girl who ran through the woods like a wolf. She had been replaced with confidence, grace, and rank. "I can't stay long. Darien and Speaks and I have been so busy with things. I just couldn't resist the pull of home any longer though. I had to come see you guys."

"I am glad you did, and congratulations on earning your new rank." Windy says warmly.

"Fancy a run through the woods like old times?"

Rhia stood a little straighter. "Almost to the top of that tree." she says with a grin. "And you can run all you want. I'll fly. I promise though, I'll keep it below the sound barrier." she says with a chuckle.

"I appreciate that Rhia." Windy says with a chuckle before shifting to lupus and racing through the woods.

In a flurry of fire and feathers Rhia shifted to Corvid and flew off after the wolf, relishing the feel of the cool evening air against her feathers. She kept it down key this time, swooping from tree to tree with carefree abandon. It had been so long since she had flown for the sake of flying.

The raven took a moment to reach a clawed talon up to touch the pendant hanging around her neck (spend a gnosis - active fetish) before the bird croaked out in perfect wolfspeak to her companion below. <<I haven't done this in forever!>> she screeches, spiraling high into the air before spiraling down again, riding the currents and updrafts like they were there for her.

Rhia glided high into the air, before diving at the ground, cawing like a creature gone mad. She backwinged at the last moment, letting the momentum carry her low to the ground. She zipped past Windy like a bullet, and then back into the air again, only this time she paused, landing on a low branch.

<<Windy!>> she called, the garou tongue sounding so strange coming from a raven. <<Where is everyone? You can't be the only one here.>>

"He isn't, but I'm only stopping in. Looks like I came at the right time." Alli approaches the two, a grin on her face, blond hair held back by a green bandana tied around her head. "You're Rhia, Windy and Carry told me a little bit about you recently. I didn't think I'd get to meet you so soon. My name is Allison Davros. Ragabash, Child of Gaia, Claith."

The raven's head snapped to look at Allison, its yellowy orange rimmed eyes eerily like staring into the sun ((otherworldly presence flaw)). It flew down to the ground and began to shift. The large bird seemed to catch on fire, and then it burst into the air. As she melded through her forms, she burned like a phoenix, until finally she began to shrink again, and before long, she stood before the two in homid form.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Allison. I am Rhia "Phoenixfire" McGraven, <<insert name of rank 4 for corax here>> of the Corax."

Alli watches, mouth open in a grin as Rhia shifted through her forms. As homid Rhia steps up, she lets out a breath she hadn't known she was holding. "I think you'll be about as awesome as they said you are."

Rhia grinned a huge grin at Allison. "Aww man, I'm such a bad example of a Corax, you have no idea. I fail at tricks, I fight like a Garou, I talk to spirits and ghosts, and my crinos form is actually /pretty/. So don't get your hopes up. They're not all as awesome as me."

The teenager puffs out her chest and stands tall, her hands perched on her hips in a heroic pose.

"You seem like a fine addition to this sept yourself, Allison. I'll do my best to come around more often, but Darien and Speaks keep me busy running messages everywhere. They know I know the fastest routes to just about anywhere through the umbra. I promise though, this won't be the last time you see me."

Alli grins at her. "I hope not. Sorry it had to be such a short introduction, I just came by to drop something off before work." She reaches into her bag and pulls out a large ziplock bag of jerky and tosses it to Windy. "My uncle went hunting recently and I made a ton of this stuff. You and Carry seem to like it, and we have way too much at home."

"Well it was a pleasure to meet you Allison. Hopefully we will have time to talk in the future." Rhia replies with a smile, and then she turns to Windy. "I should probably get going to. At this point Speaks and Darien are probably wondering where I've run off to...again." She chuckles, and then gives them both a hug. She then concentrates for a moment, taking her time and showing off as she melds through her forms to corvid. She takes off, quickly gaining speed, until with a loud "Bang!" she disappears, apparently stepping sideways midair.
