Just Can't Sleep - Feb 16th

Devon was running laps around the caern. This was his ninth, but he wasn't tired, that's the thing. He wasn't tired. Fight and fight and run and work, but never was he tired, and tonight he couldn't sleep. It was his sixth straight night of guard duty. Five nights of it had been voluntary. He was much more comfortable in the caern than at home among all those bastard humans. So he ran and ran and ran, mile after mile, minute after minute occassionally stopping to chase off a kid with a can of spray paint or a drug addict. There was never anything really wyrm tainted, not around here. His heart beat in his chest steady and slow, each beat strengthening him, each beat a healing muscle. There was nothing to do but outrun his thoughts. A mage in the caern, fomori in the meat shop, more fera than I've ever seen, the alpha had something to do with the vampires, a shadowlord from nowhere, the new wolves in running about unchecked, a rite to create garou, garou name-breakers. There was nothing that didn't cross his mind in his run. He was paying attention, he was listening. He knew all that was wrong. He could do nothing about it.

[Mr Speaks]

Insert Eric here, sitting on a bench, typing on a laptop.

Devon stops not even the slightest bit out of breath. "You homids and your weaver tools. Wait, I'm sorry, sir. How are you this evening?"

[Mr Speaks]

"I'm good, keeping in touch with my people. And you, running?"

He looks up from his laptop and closes the lid.

[DerekCase]

Devon seems distracted for a moment before replying, "Yeah, just can't sleep. Where are you from anyway, if you don't mind me asking. You just kinda popped up."

[Mr Speaks]

"I worked some with the Glasswalkers in the city, but I was never assimilated in with them. Once the call came out I came here. I tend to just wonder a bit."

[DerekCase]

"Really? I never saw you with the Glasswalkers. Granted, I'm a claith, so I probably shouldn't have. Nevermind. I don't know if I've properly introduced myself. I'm Devon Carter, Paces-the-Car, Glasswalker, Ahroun, Claith. You can call me Paces."

[Mr Speaks]

"I'm Eric Matthews, Shadowlord philodox, Adren."

He set the laptop to the side.

"I didn't work with the Caern that often, mostly with the side groups. Were you a member of the Caern?"
